Mobile
Tech specializes in the component level repair of all makes and models of “out
of warranty” computer monitors and terminals, as well as industrial monitors
and flat panel displays. We also repair
monitors for specialty equipment such as CNC lathe monitors. We used to
say, “If it has a tube, we'll try to fix it,” in fact, we still go by this
rule. Since this is what we do, we
are very good at it and are the only company in the Clear Lake area that
specializes in this market. Although we are located near Houston, we happily
ship and receive throughout the nation. We even include a 90 day warranty
on our repairs.
Mobile Tech has structured prices so you know what to expect.
We call them flat rates. There
are no hourly rates, no hidden costs, no bench fees. In
the consumer electronic repair industry there is a saying that if the repair
costs less than forty percent of the replacement value, then get it
repaired. After a market study, we
have determined that our rates fall well within this range.
It's generally better to repair than to replace for a number of reasons.
Monitors and terminal displays should have a life of ten to fifteen
years. LCD screens should last even
longer. All it takes is a tiny component to render a monitor useless.
Until the tube or main transformer fails, it would be wise getting the
unit repaired. Repairing would make
your company ecologically friendly by reducing the amount of computer junk in
our landfills. All monitors and terminals contain potentially dangerous
heavy metals. Lastly, repairing
will save you money over buying a new monitor or flat panel display.

Monitor Information
If you are reading this text right now than you are looking at some kind of
computer display. The computer display associated with a desktop computer is
often called a Monitor. A monitor is in many ways very similar to a television
in the way it displays its signal. The monitor is a very important purchase
because you spend all of your computing hours staring at it. When you purchase a
monitor you have to know for what kind of computing you tend to participate in.
Here are some of the questions you should ask yourself when considering
purchasing a new computer monitor:
* How many hours a day do you use your computer?
* Do you use your computer for graphic imaging?
* Do you use your computer as a business tool?
* How many MB of Video RAM (Video Read-Only Memory) does your video card have?
* Do you wear glasses?
Size and Resolution
When looking at what size monitor to purchase you really have to understand how
you use your computer. If you use your computer for countless hours on end it is
better to purchase a larger monitor in order to place less strain on your eyes.
Another thing to take in to consideration is whether or not you use your
computer system to manipulate graphics files or desktop publishing. These are
also situations where a larger size monitor will suit you well. If you only use
your computer a few hours a day for recreational purposes it may not be as vital
for you to have a very large display. For the average user like that a good
15inch or 17inch monitor should suit your needs.
A very important thing to realize is when looking at the size of a computer
monitor is that the listed size does not tell you how large a viewing area you
actually have. For example most 15inch Monitors only have about 14inches of
viewable screen image, while most 17inch monitors have a viewable area of about
16inches. To get a good idea of exactly how much viewing area your monitor has
you should always ask about the viewable image as opposed to just the monitor
size.
Remember if you use your computer a lot you should definitely consider
purchasing a larger monitor such as a 17 inch or higher.
Maximum Resolution
The next feature that you should take into consideration is the resolutions that
the monitor is capable of displaying. There's no point in purchasing a gigantic
monitor when it is only capable of displaying 800x600. Remember the higher the
resolution your monitor can support the more available desktop space there will
be on your computer. If you deal with large high quality images you should have
a monitor that can display extremely high resolutions. Some monitors are capable
of displaying resolutions as high as 2400x1200. Of course on the other side if
your smaller monitor can display a very high resolution it will look so tiny
that you won't be able to see anything at all. Here are the maximum resolutions
that certain size monitors should support:
* 14 inch = 800x600
* 15 inch=1024x768 or 1280x1024
* 17 inch= 1280x1024
* 19 inch =1600x1200
* 21 inch=1900x1440
You also have to make certain that the video card you own (or plan on owning)
can support the resolutions you wish to use at the color depth you require.
Mobile Tech can provide you with a high quality display and graphics adapter
for your computer that will be comfortable for your eyes.
